Gandhi Smriti has been organizing Gandhi Summer Schools for the past eight years. The aim of the Summer Schools is to expose children from different sections of the society to various skill sets. These include reporting, radio production, filmmaking, theatre, how to use comics for social communication, mime, dance and music. During the Summer Schools the children are exposed to the teachings and message of the Father of the Nation. Efforts are continuously being made to ensure proper follow-ups of Gandhi Summer Schools.  

 

Gandhi Summer Schools are organized in other states too, usually in association with local organizations.

The Gandhi Summer School, started fourteen years ago, is an innovative experiment to creatively engage children during their long summer vacations. The overarching goal is to acclimatize the students with the life, message and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi; the process is taken forward through meaningful group activities and creative tools including vocational training, performing arts, traditional and modern means of communications, etc.
