On the immense success of the G-20 summit chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a ‘Sarvadharma Sadbhav Tiranga Yatra’ was organised from Jama Masjid Gate No. 1 on September 14, 2023. Under the leadership of the Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti and former Union Minister Shri Vijay Goel, this Tiranga Yatra started from Jama Masjid and culminated at Delhi Gate. A large number of Hindus and Muslims participated in this yatra, including women.
While passing through Matiya Mahal market, people were holding big hoardings and Tricolor flags with photos of G-20 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their hands. Throughout the market, people welcomed the success of the G-20 summit with flowers and slogans of 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi Zindabad' and 'Mahatma Gandhi Amar Rahe' (Long Live Mahatma Gandhi).
The President of Matia Mahal Market Association Haji Salimuddin and the traders along with Shri Vijay Goel raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Hindustan Zindabad’, and ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ki Jai’.
Haji Salimuddin said that Muslims decorated Jama Masjid on the occasion of G-20 and today Vijay Goel ji, who has been our MP twice, came here with this Tiranga Yatra. The shopkeepers expressed their happiness by showering flowers as the yatra crisscrossed the streets of Old Delhi.
Shri Goel said that in fulfillment of G-20's 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' this Sarva Dharma Sadbhav Tiranga Yatra has been organised. The G-20 summit has increased the prestige of India as well as Indians throughout the world, the credit for which goes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. People of all religions expressed happiness over the success of G-20 in this Tiranga Yatra, which embodies Mahatma Gandhi's emphasis on inter-faith harmony.
According to Shri Goel, this Yatra is a symbol of India's inclusive culture. Through this yatra, we are celebrating not only India's achievements but also India's unity in diversity.
Shri Vijay Goel also said that the success of G-20 would also benefit the country's economy and tourism industry.
Shri Goel further said that all the countries of the world bowed down at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. This clearly shows that Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts are relevant even today. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is following the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi, in which cleanliness, toilets, communal harmony, upliftment of Dalits and poor, and women empowerment are the main ones.
A special band was called from Uttarakhand for this yatra, behind which people were walking carrying cut-outs of G-20 as well as lifesize cut-outs of Prime Minister Modi.
